KOTTAYAM: Trains will run through Alappuzha as work on removing the mud which caved in on the railway track in Kottayam is progressing. Venad and Jan Shatabdi Express which operated service via Kottayam will now ply via Alappuzha.
06302 Thiruvananthapuram-Ernakulam Junction Venad Special and 02081 Kannur-Thiruvananthapuram Jan Shatabdi Express have been diverted through Alappuzha. Railway authorities have informed that these trains will have additional stops at Ernakulam, Alappuzha and Kayamkulam stations.
The mud caved in yesterday near the railway tunnel on Kottayam-Chingavanam railway path. Train services on this route have been suspended due to this.
