Kerala records 962 cases of COVID-19 on Monday, 801 cases through contact; 815 recoveries

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The state has confirmed 962 new coronavirus positive cases on Monday, CM Pinarayi Vijayan told the media here.

Among the new cases, 801 persons developed the disease through contact including 40 cases without an identified source of infection, 55 persons came from abroad and 85 from other states. 15 health workers developed the disease on Monday.

District wise breakup of positive cases:

Thiruvananthapuram-205, Ernakulam-106, Alappuzha-101, Malappuram-Thrissur-85, Kasaragod-66, Palakkad-59, Kollam-57, Kannur-37, Pathanamthitta-36, Kottayam-35, Kozhikode-33, Wayanad-31, Idukki-26

815 coronavirus patients tested negative for the virus on Monday.

Two deaths have been reported today.

There are 11,484 active cases in the state. In the past 24 hours, 19,343 samples were tested. There are 1,43,251 persons under observation in the state including 10,779 in hospitals.
