59 inmates of Poojappural Central Jail test positive for COVID-19, disease confirmed via antigen test

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Nearly 59 prisoners of Poojappura Central Jail have been confirmed of COVID-19. The disease was confirmed on them in an antigen test conducted on 99 people. One inmate was confirmed of the virus the other day. Following that, the antigen test was conducted. All the prisoners of the jail would be subjected for the tests. The auditorium of the jail have been made a quarantine centre. The inmates testing positive have raised serious concerns.

The capital city has the highest number of COVID patients in the state. 297 were confirmed of the virus yesterday. 279 contracted the disease through contact. The source of 11 is unknown. 12 health workers too tested positive yesterday.
