A day will be gone…..the lone men who fear Oommen Chandy in Puthupally

KOTTAYAM: Oommen Chandy as a leader can’t exist without a crowd. He is always accompanied by at least half a dozen people. Even in his car journeys, the situation will be the same. He will be accompanied by state leaders to local leaders. One might be sitting in another leader’s lap, but Oommen Chandy has no concerns on such trips but there is a group in Puthupally who are concerned about such trips and they are the local taxi drivers.

Oommen Chandy neither owns a car nor have a regular car driver in Puthupally. Therefore he depends on any driver who is available in Puthupally. The drive which starts at early morning will extend up to late midnight. While on the trip, the driver won’t be able to take a nap nor able to eat anything on time. Above all, no space would be left on the car sometimes it gets worse and even the driver won’t get free space to drive the car. Therefore the local drivers who know all the perils associated with the trip with Oommen Chandy usually abstain from his calls.

Meanwhile, a driver who took Oomen Chandy recently got a call from somebody else for another trip at evening, after picking up the call, he said, “It seems i won't get any respite, am fully trapped today.”
