KOLLAM: The probe in the suicide case of Ramsi in Kottiyam has been handed over to the state crime branch. DGP Lokanath Behera released the order in handing over the case to a team led by SP K G Simon. The case was earlier investigated by Kollam district crime branch. The case was given to district crime branch from Kottiyam police. Harris engaged to Ramsi had been arrested in the case. She took the drastic step after he backed out from the alliance.

Ramsi’s father and action council Justice for Ramsi had lodged a complaint to the DGP pointing that the present probe was not satisfactory. The police had obtained evidences of Harris and his mother talking to Ramsi in the phone two days before and on the day she committed suicide. Harris’ mother and sister-in-law (brother’s wife) and a serial actress had filed an anticipatory bail plea in the Kollam Principal Sessions Court.
