Low-pressure formation: Kerala likely to receive heavy rain from Tuesday, yellow alert in several districts

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) has warned of heavy rainfall across the state from Tuesday due to the possibility of low-pressure formation in the Bay of Bengal and the Arabian sea.

Following this, a yellow alert was issued in Kollam, Pathanamthitta and Idukki districts on Tuesday, Pathanamthitta, Kottayam and Idukki districts on Wednesday and Ernakulam and Idukki districts on Wednesday.

The IMD also added that isolated showers and thunderstorms are expected in Kerala from Sunday to Thursday. The risk of thunderstorms is high between 2 pm and 10 pm.
