THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The state government is all set to revive the KSRTC. As the first phase, Rs 4160 crore has been provided as financial assistance, Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan said on Monday. All permanent employees will be given an interim relief of Rs. 1500 per month. He also said that the M-panel employees will not be dismissed and instead they will be appointed at Swift, a subsidiary company. He added that the government would write off Rs 961 crore interest.

Those who have served for ten years and have been appointed through PSC-Employment will be made permanent on the basis of the court order. The Kovid epidemic has created a major crisis in the transport sector. Public transportation came to a halt during the lockdown. Transportation has not returned to normal since then. This has seriously affected KSRTC, the CM said. While stating that the government has kept its word, the CM added that Rs 1000 crore has been given to KSRTC in the last two years.
