COVID-19: Situation still grim in Kerala as three districts record over thousand cases on Wednesday

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Three districts in the state recorded over a thousand COVID-19 cases on Wednesday-Ernakulam, Kozhikode, and Thrissur.

Ernakulam registered 1250 COVID-19 cases, of which 994 cases are through contact including seven health workers. 633 coronavirus patients tested negative for the virus in the last 24 hours. Five COVID-19 deaths were confirmed in the district on Wednesday.

In Kozhikode. the reported COVID-19 cases in the last 24 hours were 1149. Of this, there are 1087 cases through contact including 19 health workers. 720 coronavirus patients tested negative for the virus on Wednesday.

Thrissur recorded 1018 COVID-19 cases, of which, 1005 cases are through contact. Six health workers tested positive for the virus on Wednesday. 916 coronavirus patients tested negative in the last 24 hours. Nine deaths due to COVID-19 were also confirmed today.
