Friday has been a crucial day for the CPM with Kodiyeri Balakrishnan stepping down from the post of party's state secretary. Though he has cited his treatment as the reason behind stepping down, reports claim that he was forced to step down because of his son's benami deals.

Meanwhile, the party named A Vijayaraghavan as the new state secretary. Following this, VS Achuthanandan's former PA Suresh came up with a Facebook post against Vijayaraghavan. Suresh wrote that Vijayaraghavan was selected for such a post for speaking against Achuthanandan during CPM Central Committee meeting and all those who failed to understand this are fools.
