KOCHI: The court directed to set up a medical board to examine the health condition of former minister Ebrahim Kunju arrested in the Palarivattom Bridge corruption case. The Moovattupuzha Vigilance Court entrusted Ernakulam DMO for it. The board should be formed at the earliest and examine his mental and physical health. The board can examine him either on Sunday or Monday. The medical report should be submitted in the court before 11 am Tuesday morning.

The judge rejected former minister’s request for a copy of the medical report before submitting it to the court. The vigilance court directed formation of a medical board to ascertain the health condition of Ebrahim Kunju, who was hospitalized before his arrest.

The team will include doctors from Ernakulam General Hospital. The court will take a decision on vigilance’ plea seeking his custody as per the report of the medical board. Kunju is presently in judicial custody in Kochi Lakeshore Hospital
