THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan on Monday defended police adviser Raman Srivastava in connection with the vigilance raid at KSFE branches. While claiming that Raman Srivastava has no role to play in the raids, the CM added that media syndicates were behind such allegations. Srivastava cannot directly interfere in the home department, which includes the police, fire force and jail.
The CM said that no one should report Srivastava or accept his suggestions. "This is not the first time that inspections have been carried out. There have been inspections in 2019 and 2018 and Srivastava has not played any role there," the CM said. Using the term 'media syndicate', the Chief Minister lashed out at the media by saying that the old habit, which it had abandoned for some time, seems to be returning to the media.
