Crucial day for Sivasankar; high court to consider his bail plea

sivasankar-

KOCHI: High court will consider on Wednesday chief minister’s former principal secretary M Sivasankar’s bail plea. ED arrested Sivasankar on the allegation that he laundered black money in connection with the gold smuggling case.

Whereas Sivasankar contends that there is no evidence against him, and ED has arrested him only on the basis of Swapna Suresh’s testimony. Meanwhile, ED said that the case is in a crucial phase, therefore bail should not be given to Sivasankar. The principal sessions court has earlier rejected Sivasankar’s bail plea.

Swapna was questioned by ED last month. In the testimony given then, Swapna has said that Sivasankar has prior knowledge about the gold smuggling and the money kept in her locker is his commission amount.
