Youth kills wife in front of minor daughter suspecting infidelity

KATTAPANA: Suspecting extra marital affair of his wife, a youth killed his wife by slitting her throat. The victim has been identified as Rajalakshmi (30) of Priyadarsini Colony at Peerumedu in Idukki. The police has taken her husband Raja (36) into custody. The incident happened Wednesday night.

He killed his wife in front of their six-year-old daughter. Raja came home drunk and an argument took place between them which turned ugly. In fit of rage, he slit her throat using a knife. After committing the crime, he fled the place. He was caught with the help of the locals.

Police said he suspected that his wife was having an extra-marital affair. There were frequent quarrels at home over this. Ten years ago, Rajalakshmi left her husband and daughter and eloped with Raja.
