Death of Anil Panachooran: Police registers case of unnatural death

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The police have registered a case of unnatural death on the death of Anil Panachooran, poet and lyricist, who passed away last night. The Kayamkulam police registered the case based on the statement of his wife and relatives.

He was confirmed of the virus yesterday. His relatives said that he did not have any other health issues. The Kayamkulam police will soon reach the capital city.

Panachooran’s relatives have demanded a post-mortem. The burial time will be decided after the post-mortem at the medical college hospital.

The poet collapsed Sunday morning while going to Chettikulangara Temple in Alappuzha. He was immediately taken to VSM Hospital in Mavelikara and then to Karunagapally Valyath Hospital. In the tests conducted there, he was confirmed of COVID-19. Though he was brought to KIMS Hospital for better treatment, his life could not be saved and died in the night.

He leaves behind his wife Maya and children Maithreyi and Arul.
