Even after inauguration of flyover traffic block continues in Vyttila; new measures imposed

KOCHI: Even after the inauguration of the much-awaited flyover in Vyttila, the issue of traffic block continues in Vyttila. On Saturday, when the bridge was opened for the first time, long queue of vehicles was witnessed. The signal time for vehicles from Kadavantra to Tripunithura is low. Vehicles which reach the junction, which was narrowed by traffic aid post and divider, takes more time to cross it.

When complaints rose up, Police closed the crossing located below the bridge which takes to Tripunnithura. Along with a week-long experiment with new measures, traffic commissioner has sent a letter to PWD to derive a permanent solution to the issue. Traffic police think that commuters would take a week’s time to learn the traffic regulations in Vyttila.
