'No need of UDF support'; CPM to step down from post of president in Chennithala's panchayat

ldf

ALAPPUZHA: CPM has decided to step down from the post of panchayat president in Thripperumthura panchayat in Chennithala. It was the CPM Alappuzha district committee that decided to resign from the post of panchayat president which was won with the support of the UDF. The move comes amid controversy over LDF taking control of the panchayat with UDF support. Thripperumthura is the panchayat of Ramesh Chennithala.

The district committee took the decision to resign from the post of panchayat president on the grounds that the LDF-UDF agreement was against the decision of the state committee.
