KOZHIKODE: Senior Congress leader and MP K Muraleedharan has said that if UDF comes to power, Ramesh Chennithala will be considered for the chief minister’s post along with Oommen Chandy. He also added that Oommen Chandy and Chennithala will lead the party in the polls and those who get the support of the majority of MLAs will become the chief minister.
Muraleedharan said that he won’t go anywhere outside Vadakara for the poll campaign activities and it is not because of getting ignored in the party. “Most important is fulfilling my responsibility as an MP. I don’t know how far the talks held between Christian religious leaders and UDF will produce any yield for the party in the polls. Their concerns could only be resolved through transparent and open talks. Decision with welfare party was taken after consulting with everyone,” the senior Congress leader added.
He also said that in the local body polls, seats were shared among the groups. If it gets repeated, then the party might have to pay a huge price in the assembly polls. Muraleedharan also criticised that the party was not able to make any impact on the grassroots level.
