KATTAPPANA: The security guard of a beverage outlet was stabbed by a youth who got outraged by the low level of alcohol mentioned on the bill. Nariyampara native Santhosh Abraham, the security guard of the outlet, got injured on his left hand and was rushed to the hospital. Kattappana police have registered a case against Pradosh, a native of Thankamani. He has gone hiding.
The incident occurred in front of the Kattappana beverage outlet by around 4.45 pm. Though Pradosh had ordered for half a litre of liquor, he found that the bill mentioned only a pint. He then informed the staff who took back the bill and returned another bill for half a litre of liquor. After buying the liquor, Pradosh went on to use offensive language against the employees of the outlet. When Santosh tried to send him away, Pradosh broke a beer bottle and stabbed him in the hand. According to a witness, Pradosh escaped on a bike. Santosh, who was admitted to Kattappana Co-operative Hospital, has three stitches in his hand.
