Kerala creates history; Defeats Delhi by six wickets

MUMBAI: Kerala has recorded its third consecutive win in the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy by defeating Delhi by 6 wickets. With this tremendous win, Kerala has come first in Group E.

Batting first, Delhi managed to score 212 runs with the loss of 4 wickets. Skipper Shikhar Dhawan scored 77 runs off 48 balls while Lalit Yadav and Anuj Rawat made 52 and 27 runs respectively. Senior pacer S Sreesanth took 2 wickets while Midhun took 1 wicket.

Chasing 213, Kerala lost the crucial wickets of Muhammad Azharuddin (0) and Sanju Samson (16) quite early. However, it was the partnership between Robin Uthappa and Vishnu Vinod which destroyed Delhi's hopes to win the match. Uthappa hit 8 sixes and 3 fours to pile up 91 runs while Vishnu Vinod made an unbeaten 71 runs off just 38 balls. For Delhi, Ishant Sharma, Simarjeet Singh, Pradeep Sangwan and Lalit Yadav took one wicket each.
