THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Finance minister Thomas Issac has said that CAG is trying to hinder the state government’s development plans. The CAG submitted the report without hearing the state government’s part. The report’s content pulls back the forward movement of the state’s development programmes. The finance minister also said in the assembly that the report is against pre-existing norms.

With this, the state government has got the opportunity to scrutinise the office of CAG. Nod has been given for a one and a half-hour-long discussion, which will commence from 12.30 pm. Earlier, V D Sateeshan MLA has given notice for the adjournment motion. The Congress MLA in his notice has pointed out the CAG’s finding on KIIFB that the selling of Masala bonds via the board in 2018-19 period as part of raising loans is an extra-budgetary way of raising capital and it is unconstitutional.
