THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The state confirmed 6334 COVID-19 cases on Thursday, Health Minister KK Shailaja said. Among these, 5658 persons developed the disease through contact including 517 cases without an identified source of infection. 93 persons who came from outside the state also tested positive for the virus. 66 health workers tested positive for the virus on Thursday.
1 UK returnee tested positive for the virus in the last 24 hours. So far, 66 UK returnees have tested positive for COVID-19. Their samples have been sent to Pune NIV for further tests.
Meanwhile, 6229 patients tested negative for the virus today. As of now, there are 69,771 active cases in the state.
The state confirmed 21 deaths due to the virus on Thursday with the toll rising to 3545.
