Major theft in Muthoot Finance: Gold worth seven crore looted

CHENNAI: Gold worth Rs seven crore was looted from Muthoot Finance’ Tamil Nadu Krishnagiri Hosur branch at gunpoint. A team of six masked men entered the branch when the office opened at around 10 am. They robbed the branch after tying the manager.

Along with gold worth Rs seven crore, cash of Rs 96,000 was also stolen. Dramatic scenes were witnessed at gunpoint. The police is checking the CCTV footages and a probe will be based on employees’ statements.

There was a theft attempt at Muthoot’s Krishnagiri branch two weeks back. Another theft happened when the police was investigating the incident.
