COVID-19: Kerala reports 6036 new cases on Sunday; 5451 cases through contact, 20 deaths

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The state confirmed 6036 COVID-19 cases on Sunday, Health Minister KK Shailaja said. Among these, 5451 persons developed the disease through contact including 469 cases without an identified source of infection. 74 persons who came from outside the state tested positive for the virus. 42 health workers contracted the disease on Sunday.

5173 patients tested negative for the virus today. As of now, there are 72,891 active cases in the state.

The state confirmed 20 deaths due to the virus on Sunday with the toll rising to 3607.

In the last 24 hours, 48,378 samples have been tested. The test positivity rate stands at 12.48.

With the addition of 5 new regions and the removal of 5, there are 407 hotspots in the state.
