Strike will be called off if one-fifth of appointment is implemented, says Laya Rajesh, job aspirants pin hope on crucial cabinet meet

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Laya Rajesh, representative of LGS rank holders striking in front of the secretariat, has clarified that the strike will continue till a decision is taken in their favour. No additional posts are asked. The chief minister’s words yesterday that one fifth of appointment are seen with hope. If one fifth of appointments are implemented, more than nine thousand will be appointed, she said.

Even with months are remaining on lists like LD, a lot of appointments are still being made. We are asking for posts legally eligible. The strike will not be stopped, it will be stopped only if the order on one-fifth of appointments are implemented, she said.

Laya's response was at a time when the crucial cabinet meeting is progressing. The rank holders are protesting in front of the secretariat pinning hope in today's cabinet meet. Some vital decisions ahead of the announcement of elections may be taken in today's cabinet meet.
