THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Speaking to the media here, Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan took a dig at the ED by saying that their haste on the issue of KIIFB receiving foreign funds during election time is understandable. The Chief Minister alleged that the ED did not call the officials of KIIFB to learn about facts and that the ED officials had behaved in a manner that violated the boundaries of decency towards the officials including the women. On March 2, the media reported there is an investigation against KIIFB and the ED had summoned its CEO and the deputy CEO. They only received the summons later, which is unusual. There have been similar actions on the part of central agencies in the past, the CM said.
Calling and harassing is for political bosses. The move is to threaten if they do not get the desired statement. There was even physical abuse involved. Why is there such a frenzy on the part of central agencies during elections? The Chief Minister also criticized the Leader of the Opposition Ramesh Chennithala. The Leader of the Opposition is credited with making the most of the baseless allegations. The CM also said the attacks against the government must not be made by hindering the welfare of people.
