Smija keeps her word despite having bumper prize-winning lottery ticket in possession

ALUVA: The story of PK Chandran, of Palachottil in Chakkamkulangara, winning a lottery prize of Rs 6 crore has a complementary story of honesty as well.

Chandran, who won the state government lottery's summer bumper prize, bought the ticket on credit. Smija K Mohan, a resident of Walampur, who sells lottery tickets from Bhagyalakshmi Agency in Pattimattam, gave Chandran a ticket on credit. Smija's sells lottery tickets in front of Rajagiri Hospital. With 12 tickets left on Sunday, Smija called Chandran, who regularly buys tickets, to buy at least one ticket.

After asking for numbers over the phone, Chandran chose ticket number SD 316142. On Sunday evening, Smija learned that the first prize was for the ticket she had kept for Chandran. Smija, who immediately called Chandran, handed over the ticket overnight.

Chandran is a gardener in Don Bosco in Keezhmad. Wife: Leela. Children: Chalitha, Anjitha and Anjith. He wants to financially help Chalitha's husband, whose house construction is going on. Chandran said he intends to spend the money on the marriage of his second daughter and the study needs of his son who is studying B Tech. Chandran has handed over his ticket to Kuttamassery SBI bank.

Rajesh is the husband of Smija. Her eldest son (13) ) is undergoing treatment for a brain infection. Her younger two-year-old son is being treated for cancer.
