NEW DELHI: Congress leader Priyanka Gandhi Vadra is in self-isolation after her husband Robert Vadra tested positive for coronavirus. Priyanka was scheduled to reach the capital city tomorrow for a road show for the congress candidates of Nemom and Kazhakoottam constituencies.
Priyanka who reached the capital city on Tuesday was not able to attend the road show fixed in Nemom constituency. The district congress leadership cited lack of time and opposition from the side of police. However, K Muraleedharan, the UDF candidate of Nemom conveyed his protest to the state leadership for not bringing her there. When he visited her at the private hotel, she promised to attend the road show in Nemom. She said the same to Dr S S Lal, the UDF candidate of Kazhakoottam. If a road show is not conducted in the lone BJP’s seat in Nemom, there may be other interpretations for it. Muraleedharan's response after Priyanka promised to join the campaign was that there was nothing bigger than a member of the Nehru family campaigning for him.
Robert Vadra announced on Facebook that he is asymptomatic so far.
Priyanka has cancelled her trips to Assam, Tamil Nadu and Kerala for election campaigns.
