KOCHI: The Election Commission has informed that the Tamil Nadu borders will be closed on election day. The Election Commission informed the High Court that the boundaries would be under the control of the central forces and a CCTV system would be set up on the day of polling. The Election Commission informed its stand on the double vote allegation.

In a petition filed by Shanimol Usman, the High Court directed the Election Commission to check whether video recording is practical in the booths where double voting was alleged. The commission, which stated that webcasting was provided in 46 percent of the sensitive booths in Alappuzha, informed the court that the candidates would not be allowed to shoot videos at their own cost in the desired booth.

The Election Commission opined that the court should not interfere in the election process. The High Court, which recorded the position of the Election Commission, settled the petitions.
