Possibility of Covid second wave, spike in number of cases likely

covid-

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The health department estimates that the number of Covid patients will increase in the coming days in the state, even though the elections were held with restrictions. With Covid's second wave, the assessment is that the situation in Karnataka, Punjab, Chhattisgarh and Maharashtra cannot be ruled out in Kerala as well.

The number of patients came down but it went up on election day. This is a sign that the disease is spreading to more people. There is also a finding that the low number of tests in the state in the context of elections is a reason for the decline in the number of cases. Therefore, the Union Health Department has suggested that the RTPCR test should be increased. Low accuracy antigen testing is more common in the state.
