KANNUR: Health minister K K Shylaja has said that Covid-19 cases are increasing in the state. The minister has also asked to increase covid tests among those who have the symptoms of the pandemic. “Every district should plan accordingly to counter the rising menace of the pandemic. Measures to counter the pandemic will be taken at the ward level,” she said.

“Have sought more number of vaccines to the centre on a priority basis. The immunisation campaign will get halted if sufficient number of vaccines are not received on time. The number of pandemic cases in Kannur is increasing. Meetings will be convened in every district to take appropriate measures to contain the pandemic situation. Hospitals in Kannur have the required facilities now. Whereas the facilities for non-covid treatment must be increased. More staff should be appointed for this purpose. We hope that the poll panel would not create blockades in our efforts,” K K Shylaja said.

“The covid prevention panels at the grass-root levels will visit each and every household in an area. Its activities will be further strengthened with the involvement of panchayat presidents,” the health minister said.
