Kerala records 10031 COVID-19 cases on Friday, 21 deaths

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The state confirmed 10031 COVID-19 cases on Friday, Health Minister KK Shailaja said. Among these, 9137 persons developed the disease through contact including 641 cases without an identified source of infection. 221 persons, who came from outside the state, tested positive for the virus. 32 health workers contracted the disease on Friday.

3792 patients tested negative for the virus today. As of now, there are 69,868 active cases in the state.

The state confirmed 21 deaths due to the virus on Friday with the toll rising to 4877.

In the last 24 hours, 67,775 samples have been tested. The test positivity rate stands at 14.8.

With the addition of 12 new regions and the removal of 1, there are 436 hotspots in the state.
