Centre asks 50 percent employees to work from home

office

NEW DELHI: With the country witnessing a surge in COVID cases, the Ministry of Home Affairs has given the central government employees the option to work from home along with the staggered office timings. A notice was issued in this regard to the employees on Thursday. The number of employees who have to appear regularly in the office has been reduced to 50 per cent. Officers up to the level of under-secretary can avail the work from home option.

If more people are needed at the administrative level, the department heads can take action. Deputy Secretary and above ranking officials should come to the office regularly. The schedule can be changed to reduce the crowd. The schedule should be changed to different shifts to avoid multiple employees coming into the office at the same time.
