CHENNAI: A night curfew has been imposed in Tamil Nadu following the COVID outbreak. Only essential services will be allowed from 10 pm to 4 am. Only 50 percent will be allowed entry to restaurants. Shops are also advised to close before 9 pm. Sunday will be a full-time curfew. Tourists are also barred from visiting tourist destinations. The night curfew will come into effect from Tuesday. The Class XII examinations were postponed in the state.

Tamil Nadu had closed 12 roads in the border areas of Thiruvananthapuram district the other day. Despite Kerala's request, none of the roads were opened. Kaliyikavila Market Road is the largest road that remains closed. Roads like Karakonam-Ramavarmanchira, where there are no police for inspection, were completely closed using barricades. It is learnt that the Kanyakumari district administration is planning to tighten the restrictions at the border.
