Covid positive theft accused flees from hospital, police intensifies search for 17-year-old

THODUPUZHA: An accused in a theft case diagnosed with Covid-19 fled from the hospital. The 17-year-old-boy fled from the isolation ward of Thodupuzha district hospital.

The police arrested the boy on Saturday. After he tested positive, he was shifted to the isolation ward of the district hospital. There was no police guard in the isolation ward of the hospital.

Although a search was conducted for him in the surrounding premises of the hospital, he was not found. He came before a patrolling team after stealing 11 mobile phones and its accessories from a mobile shop. His accomplice fled from the place.
