THRISSUR: DGP Loknath Behera has submitted a report regarding the robbery of hawala money that was being used for a national party to the Election Commission. In his report, the DGP stated that it was not clear for which party the money was brought. The DGP explained that the investigation into the incident is ongoing and questioning is underway.

The report of Thrissur SP has also been handed over to the Election Commission. So far, nine people have been taken to custody in connection with the theft case. The arrested are residents of Kannur and Thrissur who are working in the quotation team. These are the seven people who were directly involved in the robbery and the two people who provided them accommodation.

They were arrested from a hideout in Ernakulam. Police believe that questioning them will shed more light on the incident. Thrissur Rural SPG Poonkuzhali said that they are being questioned and more details about the incident will be revealed later.

Efforts are on to nab Ranjith, who is believed to be the main culprit in the incident. Ranjith, who was staying with the accused in Ernakulam, was not in the gang when the police arrived.
