Producer Antony Perumbavoor has announced that the release of Mohanlal-Priyadarshan duo's big budget historical film 'Marakkar: Arabikkadalinte Simham has been postponed. The film, which was slated to release on May 13, will be released on August 12. The new decision comes in the wake of the severe surge of Covid.
The film was initially slated to release in March 2020. But in the same month, Covid created a crisis in the country. The subsequent Covid lockdown also affected the film industry.
The film, which was made on a budget of Rs 100 crore, has three won national awards including Best Picture. Mohanlal is playing the role of Kunjali Marakkar in Marakkar. The film also stars Pranav Mohanlal, Arjun, Sunil Shetty, Prabhu, Manju Warrier, Suhasini, Keerthi Suresh, Kalyani Priyadarshan, Fazil, Siddique, Nedumudi Venu and Innocent.
