KOCHI: There should be no gatherings from May 1 to 4, warned the Kerala High Court. A case will be registered against those violating it under the Infectious Diseases Prevention Act. There should be no celebrations of election victory or gatherings on that day. The court directed the police and the district administration to ensure this.
In the wake of unprecedented rise in the number of case, the state decided to impose strict restrictions similar to lockdown from May 4 to 9. Strict restrictions will be enforced, similar to those imposed last Saturday and Sunday. Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan had informed that a case would be registered against those violating all these under the Disaster Management Act.
The goal is to avoid travel and crowds without significantly disrupting normal life. A decision will be taken on the functioning of government offices later. The shooting of films, serials and documentary has stopped.
