THRISSUR: Two persons were arrested in connection with the Kodakara hawala case on Friday. They are the main accused in the case. The arrested have been identified as Muhammad Ali and Abdul Rashid. They were taken to Kodakara station and questioned by the police. According to police, it was Abdul Rashid who leaked information about the hawala money to the robbers. They also received a reward of Rs 5 lakh for this.
The gang looted Rs 3.5 crore and made a deal of Rs 45 lakh from it. Earlier, police had revealed that Dharmarajan, who gave the money to the car driver, was an RSS activist. Thrissur SP G Poonkuzhali had informed that they are conducting an investigation to find out those who gave money to him. The money recovered from the accused is more than what is mentioned in the complaint. Dharmarajan had lodged a complaint alleging that Rs 25 lakh was embezzled in a fake accident in Kodakara.
