Prohibitory orders in Malappuram’s 55 panchayats; weekend restrictions intensified

malappuram-

MALAPPURAM: The district administration has taken stringent measures in the wake of the rapid rise in covid cases in Malappuram. The district collector has issued prohibitory orders in 55 panchayats in the district until May 14th. The administration panel of Kadambuzha Bhagavati temple has informed that devotees will not be allowed to enter from Tuesday onwards.

Meanwhile, the weekend lockdown in the district is complete. Police have also enhanced their scrutiny in various areas of the district. Restrictions in local markets and harbours were further intensified. All those who come to the city are only allowed to enter after proper tests.

Those with non-emergency needs are sent back. When those who reached the city by early morning were sent back after warning, by afternoon fine and criminal cases were taken against those who came to the city. Police have been given the direction not to compromise in such situations.
