Set back for Jose K Mani in Pala; Mani C Kappan’s lead crosses 5,000

PALA: Is Jose K Mani staring at another defeat in this assembly polls? When the vote-counting has completed the first few rounds, it is witnessed UDF’s Mani C Kappan bettering his position in Pala. Mani C Kappan is ahead of Jose K Mani by 5,508 votes.

Jose K Mani who contested in the 2019 byelections which occurred following the death of incumbent MLA K M Mani who held the constituency for the last 54 years had lost. Jose K Mani’s Kerala Congress which contested against Mani C Kappan at that time, lost the polls by 2,247 votes. Voting in the first rounds says that the trend in 2019 will also repeat this time. Whereas in Kottayam, LDF has shown a clear lead in all the five assembly seats.
