Vote sharing with BJP, reason for victory in Pala, but despite that congrats to Kappan, says Jose K Mani

KOTTAYAM: LDF’s candidate in Pala has alleged that vote sharing with BJP is the reason for the defeat of LDF in Pala. “Though I would like to congratulate Mani C Kappan on his victory, it is a fact that vote sharing with BJP has happened in the constituency. The latest information shows that,” Jose K Mani said.

NCK leader Mani C Kappan won from Pala with a majority of 10,000 votes. Mani C Kappan moved away from LDF to UDF after his efforts to secure the Pala seat ended in vain. Kappan’s victory shows that his decision to move to UDF was right.

Jose K Mani had to face defeat even from his own booth. Despite after pro left wave lashing across the state, Jose K Mani has witnessed humiliating defeat. Mani C Kappan secured a lead of eight votes even in Jose K Mani’s own polling booth.

Kappan had shown a clear lead even from the initial phase of counting. Kappan has made inroads even in the traditional strongholds of the left in the district. Jose K Mani was only able to maintain the lead in postal ballots and in the first phase of vote counting.
