THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Union minister V Muraleedharan has said that he strongly condemn the attack on NSS by CPM workers under the influence of victory. “Will not allow to attack NSS general secretary Sukumaran Nair. He is being attacked for being the voice of the devotees during the Sabarimala issue,” Muraleedharan said.

Muraleedharan has publicised his opinion through his Facebook post. He also alleged that the attack on Sukumaran Nair indicates the attacks to be made on customs and religious conventions of Hindus to be made in the future. “CPM is trying to picturise even the fervent appeals made for the protection of customs as a great sin,” Muraleedharan said.

His Facebook post is as follows:

I strongly condemn the attack on Sukumaran Nair being hatched by CPM workers. Will not allow to attack NSS general secretary Sukumaran Nair. he is being attacked for being the voice of the devotees during the Sabarimala issue.

Including Sukumaran Nair, everyone in this country has the right to voice their political opinions. CPM is trying to picturise even the fervent appeals made for the protection of customs as a great sin. The attack on Sukumaran Nair shows that the apology remarks of Kadakmpally and other CPM leaders on the Sabarimala issue were not genuine. Everybody knows that the left has won through communal polarization.

CPM is still under the dope of victory which it had secured with the support of extremist Islamic and Jihadist organisations. The attacks on Sukumaran Nair indicates the encroachments on the beliefs and customs of Hindu believers to be made in the future. I know even the Congress party will picturise me as a communalist for saying this in broad daylight. Congress must also understand that they lost the polls because those who stood with them had now changed their affiliations. Both fronts must show the spine in approaching our Muslim brethren as mere vote banks.
