Kerala clocks 41,953 COVID-19 cases on Wednesday, 58 deaths

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The state confirmed 41,953 COVID-19 cases on Wednesday. Among these, 38,896 persons developed the disease through contact, including 2657 cases without an identified source of infection. 283 persons, who came from outside the state, tested positive for the virus. 117 health workers contracted the disease on Wednesday.

23,106 patients tested negative for the virus today. As of now, there are 3,75,658 active cases in the state.

The state confirmed 58 deaths due to the virus on Wednesday with the toll rising to 5565.

1,63,321 samples were tested in the last 24 hours. The test positivity rate stands at 25.69.

With the addition of 16 new regions and the removal of one, there are 715 hotspots in the state.
