Tanker carrying cooking gas comes down; people being evacuated from the site

​​​​​KANNUR: A tanker carrying cooking gas has come upside down in Chala. The tanker which was coming from Mangalapuram, en route to Kozhikode has turned upside down near Chala bypass due to overspeeding. The driver who suffered serious injuries has been admitted to a nearby hospital. As a leak was discovered in the tanker, people in the nearby areas were evacuated.

Kannur mayor T O Mohanan has said that as of now, two units of fire force has been deployed to gauge the leakage and more units will be deployed soon. City police commissioner R Elanko also added that experts will visit the site soon and measures have been taken to bring the situation under control.
