KOCHI: Vipin Chand, senior chief reporter of Mathrubhumi news, died of Covid-19. He was 42. He died early Sunday morning at 2 am while undergoing treatment for the deadly pandemic at Medical Trust Hospital in Ernakulam.
He started his journalistic career through India Vision in 2005. He was a native of Paravur Alangad Koduvazhanga. He leaves behind his wife Sreedevi and son Maheswar. He will be cremated at 11.30 am at the premises of his house.
Kerala Governor Arif Mohammed Khan, Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan and senior Congress leader Ramesh Chennithala condoled the demise of Chand.
"This is a sad loss to Malayalam journalism. My heartfelt condolence to the bereaved family", Khan tweeted.
