Lockdown enters second day; police act tough on violators, starts issuing passes

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The lockdown imposed in the state in the wake of severe transmission of Covid-19, has entered the second day. The police have tightened checking all over the state. People from Tamil Nadu are entering Kerala through by lanes. Police said security would be beefed up at Palakkad border. The police are acting tough on lockdown violators.

Meantime, the police have started issuing passes travelling for emergency purposes. The pass issued is to travel to the fixed place at the fixed time. Travel is allowed only to that place. Only the pass issued to the person is allowed to travel. Another person is not permitted to accompany him.

A case will be registered against the person travelling without a pass under the Disaster Management Act. Travel outside district will be permitted to a person attending a close relative’s death, marriage, visiting a patient who is a close relative and taking a patient for treatment. An affidavit is needed to those going for vaccination and to buy groceries at nearby shops.

For pass

  • Use police website pass.bsafe.kerala.gov.in
  • You must enter name, address, vehicle number, destination, date, time and mobile number below 'pass'
  • Those not having the required category identity card, domestic workers and workers can apply. Employers can also apply for them.
  • Maids can apply by showing the house they are going. The employers and also apply for them.
  • Pass can be downloaded from the website.
  • ID cards should also be shown along with the pass
