Youth hacked to death in broad daylight in Kadakkavoor

CHIRAYINKEEZHU: A youth was hacked to death in Kavalayur coming under the Kadakkavoor police station limits. He has been identified as Joshy (37), son of Francis of Kallarathottam House, Perumkulam Mission Colony in Manambur village.

Police said he was an accused in many cases. Initial reports said previous enmity is the reason for the murder. The incident happened Sunday morning at 9.30 am.

The murder was committed by a ten-member group. Joshy, who tried to flee from their hands, was seriously hacked near his house. Although the police took the seriously injured to the hospital, his life could not be saved.

The police said he was an accused in more than 15 cases including murder, attempt to murder, robbery and smuggling of drugs. Joshy’s friend Thaha is a witness to the incident. The police have registered his statement. The police have started a search for the accused based on the statement.
