Kerala records 35,801 COVID-19 cases on Sunday, test positivity rate at 28.88; 68 deaths

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The state confirmed 35,801 COVID-19 cases on Sunday. Among these, 32,627 persons developed the disease through contact, including 2743 cases without an identified source of infection. 316 persons, who came from outside the state, tested positive for the virus. 115 health workers contracted the disease on Sunday.

29,318 patients tested negative for the virus today. As of now, there are 4,23,514 active cases in the state.

The state confirmed 68 deaths due to the virus on Sunday with the toll rising to 5814.

1,23,980 samples were tested in the last 24 hours. The test positivity rate stands at 28.88.

With the addition of 10 new regions and the removal of 2, there are 796 hotspots in the state.
