THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Youth Congress leaders have sent a letter to the high command seeking removal of opposition leader and KPCC chief. In a letter to Sonia Gandhi, the leaders also voiced the dissolution of jumbo committees of the KPCC and DCC, KSU and youth congress state committees.
The letter was signed by 24 state committee leaders of the Youth Congress. The leaders also demanded the removal of UDF convener M M Hasan. Though the demand for a change of leadership was raised among the party workers, the Congress leadership did not enter into active discussions in this regard. The political affairs committee, which met the other day decided that things like a change of leadership should be thought well and done slowly. It is in this context, the youth congress is budging pressure on the high command.
It is learned that the letter was sent by state vice president of the Youth Congress. The letter said the party would go into permanent darkness if it was not re-organized and so immediate action should be taken.
Meantime, the Youth Congress said they have not sent a letter seeking a leadership change. Youth Congress state general secretary M Dhaneesh Lal said such a decision was not taken.
