Kerala records 37,290 COVID-19 cases on Tuesday, test positivity rate at 26.77; 79 deaths

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The state confirmed 37,290 COVID-19 cases on Tuesday. Among these, 34,256 persons developed the disease through contact, including 2676 cases without an identified source of infection. 215 persons, who came from outside the state, tested positive for the virus. 143 health workers contracted the disease on Tuesday.

32,978 patients tested negative for the virus today. As of now, there are 4,23,957 active cases in the state.

The state confirmed 79 deaths due to the virus on Tuesday with the toll rising to 5958.

Thiruvananthapuram- 3700

Thrissur- 3282

Palakkad- 2959

Kollam- 2888

Kottayam- 2566

Alappuzha- 2460

Kannur- 2085

Pathanamthitta- 1224

Idukki- 1056

Kasargod- 963


Wayanad- 892


1,39,287 samples were tested in the last 24 hours. The test positivity rate stands at 26.77.


With the addition of 12 new regions, there are 810 hotspots in the state.
